DYER / FINISHER

Overview
A dyer is a company that dyes the fiber, yarn, or fabric, or parts thereof, with color by immersion into a bath of dye. The dyeing process can also include the treating of the fabric to accept the dye. Finishing refers to fabric treatments done to improve the colorfastness, improve the appearance of the fabric (i.e. sizing, glazing, etc.), or to add extra beneficial qualities to the fabric (i.e. durable press, shrinkage control, soil release, wash and wear finishes, etc.).
