Instructions
Cape with Collar
Place black satin and purple satin with right sides facing and sew on all four sides leaving 3 openings. Leave one 8 inch opening on the bottom of cape (to turn from), and two 1 inch openings on opposite ends 4 1/2" from the top edge of cape. Turn to right side. Stitch bottom opening closed. Press and then top-stitch along outer edges (except for openings). Stitch two horizontal lines from opening to opening to form a 1 inch casing to insert ribbon in. Hook one end of black ribbon on to the end of the safety pin and pull it thru the casing. Pull and gather. Stitch the 2 openings closed, leaving a 4 1/2" piece of ribbon overhang at each end. Iron on 4" of Fabric Fusion to each ribbon end for a closure.
Vest
Cut out felt lining and velvet vest front adding 1/2" seam allowance to the pattern. With right sides facing, stitch all around leaving top of shoulders and 5" on one side of vest open. Turn to right side. Cut 2 pieces of red ribbon 12" each. Cut 2 more pieces 11" each. Sew 12" piece of ribbon into each opening at top shoulder of the vest for shoulder straps. Sew one 11" piece into the opening on one side and along the same spot on the opposite side. Fold back ribbon edges 1/2" to prevent fraying and glue. Cut two pieces of Fabric Fusion 8" (fastener side only) and iron on to each shoulder ribbon end front. Cut 2 pieces of Fabric Fusion loop and hook side 1" in size. Iron the 1" pieces on to the waist band ribbons 3" from the side seams of the vest. This will make an adjustable closure for the shoulder straps. Iron on 6 1/2" of Fabric Fusion to each end of waist straps. Sew or glue on gold buttons to vest front. Download Vest and Medallion Pattern.

Medallion
Cut out star pattern from gold card stock. Punch a hole at the top of one point of star. Use a small piece of wire (or paper clip) to create a small loop. Attach 3" of Fabric Fusion to each end of purple ribbon (trim to fit) to create a closure for ribbon. Fold a "V" at center and glue wire end on to wrong side of ribbon. Glue a small (about 3/4") piece of purple ribbon to cover the back center wire and secure. Glue on gem to medallion center.
