ladybug costumeMaterials:

cardboard,
pencil, ruler, scissors,
2 yards of 1/2" wide grosgrain ribbon to match sweatshirt (for all pattern variations except ladybug),
24" strip of VELCRO® brand STICKY BACK® tape,
(The ladybug costume requires black STICKY BACK® tape.)

Instructions

Cut out two 15" to 18" circles of cardboard for Penny, Cookie, and Apple Costumes, depending on size of child. Cut out one circle for Ladybug Costume. (See individual instructions for decorating placards.)

For suspender to hold up placard, cut out four 18" strips of grosgrain ribbon and four 6" strips of STICKY BACK® tape. Glue down one end of each 18" ribbon strip to the wrong side of one circle, placing one ribbon on each side of the top of placard for shoulder straps, and one on each side of the placard for underarm straps. Separate the STICKY BACK® tape. Attach four loop halves of the 6" strips of STICKY BACK® brand tape to the free end of the four ribbons. Attach the other four hook halves of the STICKY BACK® tape to the wrong side of the second circle, extending each 6" strip from the outer edge of the circle towards the center, at corresponding ribbon placement markings on the top and sides of the circle. Place placard on child; adjust to fit. Press the STICKY BACK® strips together to create suspenders and underarm straps, and to secure the placard in place.
