Necklace Base

  1. Use the wire cutters to cut two pieces of the flexible beading wire that measure 8-inches, two pieces of wire that measure 8 1/2-inches, and two pieces of wire that measure 9-inches.*
  2. Slip a crimp bead and then one 4mm closed jump ring onto one end of the first 8-inch length beading wire. Thread the beading wire back through the crimp bead, making sure to capture the closed jump ring in the loop that is created. Pull the wire so the crimp bead holds the jump ring firmly in place and then use the crimp tool to close the crimp bead. Remove excess beading wire with the wire cutters.
  3. Alternately string the 8mm red bicone beads (8) and 10mm ecru pearl beads (8) onto the beading wire and finish with the 6mm black pearl beads (3). Use another crimp bead to attach a closed jump ring in the open end of the strand. Remove excess beading wire with the wire cutters. Create another strand with the second 8-inch wire using in the same manner as the first strand.
  4. Fasten a crimp bead and a 4mm closed jump ring onto the first 8 1/2-inch length of beading wire. Randomly string 10mm ecru pearl beads (10), 8mm red bicone beads (3), and 6mm black pearl beads (8) onto the beading wire and then use another crimp bead to attach a closed jump ring in the open end of the strand. Remove excess beading wire with wire cutters. Create another strand with the second 8 ½-inch wire in the same manner. .
  5. Follow the previous steps to create two beaded strands using the 9-inch beading wires. Each strand uses10mm ecru pearl beads (11), 8mm red bicone beads (7), and 6mm black pearl beads (6).
  6. Create a 2-inch circle from matt board and use a black marker to color the white areas of the matt board black. Use the 1/16 - inch hole punch to create three equally spaced holes in the right side of the circle and three holes in the left side of the circle. This circle becomes the pendant base.
  7. Use a 4mm jump ring to attach the 8-inch beaded strand to the top-right hole of the pendant base. Use a 4mm jump ring to attach the 8 ½-inch beaded strand to the middle-right hole of the pendant base. Use a 4mm jump ring to attach the 9-inch beaded strand to the bottom-right hole of the pendant base. Use another 4mm jump ring to attach the ends all three strands to the "T" part of the toggle clasp. Attach the remaining strands to the left side of the pendant base in the same manner. Attach the ends of all the three strands to the circle part of the toggle clasp.
  8. Attach the loop part from the VELCRO® Wafer Thin Fasteners to the center of the pendant base. The hook part of the VELCRO® Wafer Thin Fasteners is attached to the back of the flower pendant. The pendants are interchangeable on the necklace base by using VELCRO® Wafer Thin Fasteners, Premated Ovals.
*While you will start with 8, 8 1/2, and 9-inch beading wires, their final length will vary due to bead size. However, the instructions will still refer to them as 8, 8 1/2, and 9-inches.

Black Flower Pendant

  1. Use the rubber stamping embossing heat tool to carefully melt the ends of the black organza 6-inch, 4-inch and 2-inch circles. This will produce a slightly ruffled effect to the ends of the organza.
  2. Disassemble the flower head and reassemble the flower, incorporating the organza circles, from largest to smallest, to correspond with the flower. Use the needle and thread to secure the 10mm ecru pearl bead to the center of the flower.
  3. Create a 2-inch circle from the matt board and use a black marker to color the white areas of the matt board black. Use the 1/16th-inch hole punch to create a hole in the bottom of the circle. Use the 4mm jump ring to attach the black and red-crystal metal heart pendant to the hole of the circle. Glue the flower to the black matt board circle.
  4. Glue the alphabet beads (B, O, O) and the two 4mm red bicone glass beads, onto a feather and then glue the flower and beads to the center of the flower. Attach two additional feathers to the flower. Let the glue dry. Attach the hook part from the VELCRO® Mini Fastener to the center back of the pendant. Attach the pendant to the necklace base.

  3. Slip 4 red 4mm bicone beads between two ecru 8mm pearls, one 10mm ecru pearl, and then an ecru 8mm pearl onto a 2-inch head pin. Use the round-nose pliers to create a loop in the top of the headpin. Use a 4mm jump ring to attach the loop of the headpin to the center hole in the matt board circle.
  4. Slip 3 red 4mm bicone beads between a 4mm, 8mm, 10mm, and then 8mm ecru pearls. Use the round-nose pliers to create a loop in the top of the headpin. Use a 4mm jump ring to attach the loop of the headpin to the right of the center hole in the matt board circle. Repeat this step with the last headpin and attach it to the left of the center hole in the matt board circle.
  5. Glue the red flower to the black matt board circle. Glue the alphabet beads (B, O, O) and the 6mm bicone glass beads onto three feathers. Glue the feathers on the flower so they spell, "Boo." Let the glue dry.
  6. Attach the hook part from the VELCRO® Wafer Thin Fasteners, Premated Ovals to the center back of the pendant. Attach the pendant to the necklace base.
