RadiciGroup showcases Radifloor®, Radigreen® and Radilon® at Domotex
At Domotex 2010, leading trade fair in the carpet and flooring sector, RadiciGroup is presenting its enhanced Radifloor® PA 6 and PA 66 BCF yarn range, ideal for the residential, automotive, contract and upholstery sectors. These RadiciGroup yarns, which are available in a wide variety of weights, counts, colours, lustres, and dye affinities, are designed to boost the performance of finished goods, increase brightness and colourfastness, reduce electrostatic build-up and improve safety. Radifloor® yarns offer high performance properties: they are anti-UV (especially resistant to fading caused by ultraviolet rays), antistatic (preventing the build-up of static electricity in carpet), antibacterial, high-tenacity and highly resistant to wear and tear.
Worth special mention is the key new product to be officially launched on the occasion of Domotex: the Radifloor® Solid collection of solution-dyed PA 6 BCF for the contract sector, with more than 100 colours in 1300 dtex with 48 filaments. This new RadiciGroup yarn range features excellent colour uniformity, light fastness and resistance, deriving from the special properties of the pigments added during the spinning process. Thanks to the production technology used, Radifloor® Solid respects and safeguards the environment. Since the yarn is coloured during the spinning stage — pigment is added to the polymer during extrusion — the yarn on the bobbin is ready for tufting. No additional dying is needed.

The enhanced range of products and specialties developed by RadiciGroup for the flooring market include:
Radifloor® Contract, Radifloor® Residential, Radifloor® Solid, Radifloor® Space and Radifloor® Automotive.

Solution-dyed PA 66 and PA 6 BCF yarn. This carpet yarn is ideal for hotels, offices, public buildings and cruise liners. Radifloor® Contract yarn for cut pile and loop pile construction is recommended for the manufacture of carpet for heavy traffic applications in conformity with EN 1307, classes 32 and 33. 

PA 6 and PA 66 BCF yarn available in a broad range of counts, dpfs, lustres and dye affinities. Widely used for residential carpeting and rugs. Thanks to the large number of possible combinations, Radifloor® Residential can best meet the specific creative needs and custom requests of operators in this sector.
The new yarns — PA 6 (1300 dtex with 128 and 200 filaments) and PA 66 (1400 dtex with 256 filaments) — come in a vast portfolio of lustres and dye affinities and are ideal for the manufacture of carpet with an exceptionally soft touch. Moreover, the yarns have good resistance and are particularly suitable for wall-to-wall applications., in addition to being an extremely good value.

Solution-dyed heat-set PA 6 BCF yarn. 
Today RadiciGroup has completed its Radifloor® Automotive range – yarns for auto interiors, such as moulded carpet, boot liners and mats – with the introduction of two new solution-dyed PA6 BCF yarns: 
-  Radifloor® Automotive 1020 dtex, low dpf to meet the needs of the auto interior light-weighting process. 
-  Radifloor® Automotive 1300 dtex with 84 filaments for standard applications.

New solution-dyed PA 6 BCF yarn for the contract sector, available in counts of 1000 and 1300 dtex and featuring more than 100 colours for 1300 dtex with 48 filaments.
Radifloor® Solid can be used for cut pile and loop pile construction to give wall to wall carpeting or carpet tiles better uniformity and colour fastness. The special trilobal modified yarn cross-section improves stain resistance and aids soil removal. All this plus excellent carpet performance. Radifloor® Solid guarantees environmental protection, since pigment is added during extrusion and no further dyeing is necessary. By choosing Radifloor® Solid our customers can join us in safeguarding the environment: no additional dyeing in their factories means saving a considerable amount of water, as well as related water treatment costs.

PA6 BCF yarn.
With its traditional line of counts, combinations of yarns and colours, Radifloor® Space reconfirms RadiciGroup’s presence in the traditional household furnishings and wall-to-wall carpet market.

Radigreen®  
At Domotex RadiciGroup is showcasing Radigreen® polyolefin and polyamide yarn for the manufacture of synthetic turf for sports fields, landscaping and decorative applications, the result of the Group’s many years of experience in the artificial grass field. The Radigreen® range includes Radigreen® FF PE and Radigreen® SF PE polyethylene yarn, Radigreen® MT PE monotape, Radigreen® MFL PA polyamide monofilament and Radigreen® MFL PE, polyethylene monofilament. For the next sports season RadiciGroup has recently developed new and exclusive Radigreen® MFL PE shapes. The Radigreen® range also includes Radigreen® KDK and TXT polyethylene and polypropylene  yarn and Radigreen® PP polypropylene yarn. 
High quality and safety of use in any environment are the distinctive features of these yarns, which are available in various colours and types so as to ensure optimal performance for specific applications. Of central importance to RadiciGroup is its commitment to offer the market non-toxic, environmentally compatible, high quality products in order to safeguard the end user.  This concrete commitment has been actively carried out by Group company Tessiture Pietro Radici — the third largest producer of synthetic grass yarn in the world. In particular, the firm has worked to reduce the content of lead and other heavy metals in the pigments used to produce its yarn. (Even before 2008, when the heated debate exploded concerning the harmful effects of synthetic sports turf lead content, RadiciGroup was already marketing heavy metal free yarns). 

By achieving the “Safe Toys” certification (from the Italian Institute for Toy Safety [IISG], recognized as a Notified Body by the European Commission and the first European laboratory included in the list of accredited laboratories by the US Consumer Product Safety Commission [CPSC] for the determination of the limit values of harmful substances present in toys and children’s products in general), RadiciGroup recently further strengthened its commitment to develop yarn that combines quality and safety. The certification covers all polyethylene, polypropylene and polyamide yarns which contain the tested combinations of colours. These high-end products specifically developed for the landscaping and sports sectors are available in different types that can be combined to make high-performance synthetic turf with different looks. The broad knowledge and know-how acquired by the Group on raw materials, production processes and final applications allow it to develop high quality tailored products for its customers, always in strict compliance with product safety laws and regulations.

Radilon®
During Domotex, RadiciGroup is presenting its expanded range of Radilon® PA 6 staple fibre with solution-dyed colours – new this year. The production technology utilized for the new products ensures safety and environmental protection: Radilon® solution-dyed PA 6 staple fibre is coloured during extrusion, the initial stage of the production process, and thus no further finishing processes are needed. This means a significant savings in water usage and treatment costs. In manufacturing its products, RadiciGroup is constantly committed to defining objectives and environmental targets, by implementing a management system capable of preventing and effectively dealing with the most significant environmental impacts from the various activities carried on at its production sites.
