CROW'S FOOT TACK

Crows Foot tackThe Crow’s Foot can be used for reinforcement at the top of a kick pleat in most straight skirts, except when made from a formal fabric. To make a Crow’s Foot, follow these instructions.

  • Mark the size and position of the triangle. Note that the sides curve inward slightly. Insert the needle from the wrong side up through the lower left corner. Make a stitch at the upper corner, putting the needle in from right to left.
  • Bring the needle to the lower right corner. Make a stitch from right to left. Then, bring the needle back to the left corner. Make a stitch from right to left.
  • Continue making these stitches next to each other, until the open space has been filled in. Finish off by sewing across the center.
