Sewing & Crafts | Closings | Covered Snaps

Special Finishing Details

COVERED SNAPS

  • Covered Snaps Cut circles of lightweight fabric, which are about double the diameter of each snap. Make a small hold in the center so that the snaps will snap closed.
  • Run a basting stitch around the edge of the fabric. Place half of the snap in the center and use hand-basting stitches to gather the fabric snuggly around the snap. Secure the fabric on the wrong side.
  • Stitch the snap to the garment in the usual way. You’ll be able to find the holes in the snap with your needle.
