Alarm Clock Costume

Materials:

1 paper fastener
1-1/4 yards purple felt for front and back of clock
1/2 yard white felt
1 package Kunin Felt Presto Felt numbers
1 package green piping
1 package VELCRO® brand HALF & HALF™ tape
1/8 yard silver lame or silver paint spray adhesive or fabric glue
1 plain headband
1 Styrofoam ball — 3-1/2"
1 metallic or silver pipe cleaner
cardboard or scrap of Kreative Kanvas
2 pieces of Kreative Kanvas, oaktag, or cardboard — 20" X 20" circle

 

Instructions

Draw 20" circles on two pieces of Kanvas. Spray adhesive on backs of two purple pieces of felt. Mount on Kanvas circles and trip felt.

Cut a 18" circle of white felt. Adhere to center of purple front. Add a piping edge if desired. Glue all around and add felt numbers. Cut out pieces for clock arrows. Paint or cover with silver lame (spray mounted). Fix with paper fasteners

Cut four strips from felt measuring 16" x 1-1/2". (2 for suspenders at shoulders, 2 at waist). Sew a 9" length of the Sew-On loop side of HALF & HALF™ tape to one end of each strip. Sew the other end of the strips to the inside back of the alarm clock - 2 at each shoulder and two at each side. Glue four 4" pieces of the hook side of HALF & HALF™ tape to the corresponding inside front alarm clock shape. Press corresponding tapes together at shoulders and waist to fasten costume.

Hat Bells — Cut a 3-1/2" styrofoam ball in half. Paint silver. Cover headband with silver lame fabric or paint silver. Glue two halves of styrofoam ball to top of headband. Add pipe cleaner to top.
