Simple Steps for Maintaining Peak Performance
in Your Gore-Tex® Footwear
PERMANENT PROTECTION - The GORE-TEX® membrane inside GORE-TEX® footwear is a composite material of outstanding stability, so it needs no maintenance. As long as it is not punctured, it remains 100 percent waterproof – guaranteed.
DIRT REMOVAL - Cleaning GORE-TEX® footwear is as easy as using lukewarm water on the outside. To clean leather shoes/boots use a brush, and for textile shoes/boots, use a sponge.
WATERPROOFING - Additional waterproofing is not necessary, however, water repellent restorative treatments of shoe upper components may be used if recommended by the shoe manufacturer.
CARE PRODUCTS - There are many types of upper materials available in GORE-TEX® footwear. Please follow the manufacturer's recommendation for the treatment and care of shoe uppers. While no care product can harm the GORE-TEX® membrane, we advise against the use of fat or oil-based treatments of leathers as they can affect the overall breathability of the shoe.
